The Beautification Project in Jamestown is complete! The long awaited project has brought us new safer stamped concrete side walks and planters with trees, shrubs and flowers that brighten up downtown. There’s new tour bus parking at Rocca Park with stamped concrete in the middle of Main Street, at the intersection of Main and Seco, to mark the middle of town with new cross walks.
In recent years Jamestown has brought back its Historic Jamestown Branch Jail from Pollardville, which now sits behind the Park. Our Main Street has new old-fashioned street lights that light up our newly spruced up street.
In coming years downtown will get a facelift with exterior touches such as fixing or replacing doors and windows, decorative stone, awnings, signs, entrance lighting and exterior painting. Each business owner or building owner can apply for up to $30,000 in improvements from the development block grant program which is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
These improvements will make Jamestown more attractive and our visitors will have a beautiful, pleasant and peaceful visit to our small historic town.
